Temecula Valley High School celebrates the end of one Golden Bears tradition, the beginning of a new with TVHS Atheltic Field and Track groundbreaking

Not only does Temecula Valley High School get a new football coach, with Head Coach Rich Mey from Glendale, Arizona, but  a new, highly anticipated football field and track.

“Come and meet Coach Mey, his staff and the players at the Ground Breaking Ceremony for the construction of Temecula Valley High School’s (TVHS) long-awaited new football and athletic field and track.” Stated the TVHS web site. The Groundbreaking ceremony will begin on June 7, 2014 at 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the Golden Bears Stadium.

TVHS stated in a recent information release, the spokesperson stated: “This is an important event for TVHS and the entire community as we say goodbye to the old field and look forward to the construction of our exciting new sports complex.”

After the 2014 graduating class has said their good-byes at the Temecula Valley High School Golden Bears stadium, Temecula Valley High School plans to break ground and launch the future of TVHS with the stunning addition of the new athletic field and  track.

All of Temecula is invited to bring family, friends, lawn chairs, and blankets for an evening of fun and nostalgia, including the final last 100 yard walk across the field. “There will be food, music, performances, and a golf  ball drop” for those in attendance.

According to release, there will be food trucks, DJ, members of the TVUSD school board, and Temecula Mayor Maryann Edwards, even a special appearance by original football coach Bud Kane, and brand new head football coach, Rick Mey. The Golden Bear Cheerleaders will perform, as will a representation by the TVHS marching band, and a opportunity to win $500 in our annual Golf Ball Drop.

“Join us as we walk the length of the field in the “Last 100″ and pay honor to all of the great students and faculty that have graced that field.” stated TVHS on their Facebook page.
