Scene on Rothenberg Drive in Temecula where juvenile fell from second floor window Saturday, May 31, 2014

A second story screen still hangs ajar while police investigate the tragic occurrence just after noon on Saturday, May 31. At approximately 12:55 p.m., emergency vehicles responded to a call on Rothenberg Drive, where a child fell from a second-floor window of a Temecula residence to the concrete driveway below. A blanket remains on the concrete, reminder to the child now at a Temecula area hospital, with undisclosed injuries.
“The child was transported to a local area hospital, with unknown injuries,” stated Riverside County Deputy Alberto Martinez. “We’ll update with more information as it becomes available.”
Regarding the extent of the investigation, three cars are currently at the cul-du-sac, where yellow police line tapes whips in the afternoon wind. Riverside County Sheriff Sgt. Steve Fredricks, on scene, stated, “We will remain here until we are certain we’ve covered all aspects of the investigation.”
Meanwhile, residents and neighbors stood by and looked on, waiting for updates on the condition of the child.
Neighbor, Robert Ames, noticed the scene on the way to get the mail. “Usually, you see police like this you think there’s been a shooting. I just hate to see a child get hurt. We pray that she’s all right.”
The family, unavailable for information, however Riverside County Sheriff’s information officers reported on the current investigation. Officers remain on the scene, investigating the incident. The cul-du-sac of Rothenberg remains cordoned off with police line tape, as officers complete their investigation.
