Campers are rolling down Rancho California Road in anticipation of the thirty-first Temecula Valley Balloon and Wine Festival, and for 2014, May Gray or June Gloom will not interfere with the spectacular balloon launch at the Temecula Valley Balloon and Wine Festival (TVBWF).
Early entrance to the Balloon Launch is a mere $10 for adults, $5 for kids 6-12, and free for children 6 and under.
“Vendors will be selling breakfasty items such as coffee, cinnamon rolls, cocoa by 6 or 7 a.m. in the morning,” stated Melody Brunsting, event coordinator. “The remainder of the booths will all be open by 10 a.m.”
With a 7 a.m. forecast of 68 degrees and clear, it should be smooth sailing for the balloon launch.
Campers will delight in rolling out of their tents and trailers at Lake Skinner’s premiere camp ground to view the spectacle, however visitors to the Temecula Valley are also invited to attend the hot air balloon launch event.
If you haven’t witnessed it, there is nothing like watching those balloons cover the bright blue soCal morning and rise up into the crystal perfect weather we have come to know and love. Tethered balloon rides will be available for those present, first come first serve.
“We have over 40 balloons coming from all over the country,” stated Brunsting, “The Wicked balloon has traveled the farthest.”
Tomorrow night, stay for the spectacular “Defy Gravity” performance, as a “pseudo-choir” (according to Brunsting) will perform the Wicked song on the amphitheater stage, during the balloon glow.
“Don’t forget to download the TVBWF app,” Brunsting reminded. The app contains information on vendors, show times, maps and more for the duration of the weekend.
