Traffic on I-15 Northbound halted at Murrieta Hot Springs Thursday, due to fatal collision according to Temecula California Highway Patrol, reported by Daniel Lane, photos credited to Joe Fanasalle.
A Perris woman was killed early Thursday, May 22, in Murrieta following a double crash on Interstate 15, just north of Murrieta Hot Springs, according to Ernie Sanchez, who serves as Captain of the Temecula California Highway Patrol office.
According to the Captain, the first crash was reported shortly after 5 a.m. when a Bobtail Truck struck another car flipping on to its side and blocking the freeway.
Shortly after the crash, another vehicle, a 2009 Chevrolet Impala, headed northbound crashed into the first wreck.
“Unfortunately another vehicle didn’t see that crash already in the roadway with the bobtail on its side,” Sanchez said on scene. That vehicle “collided into the bobtail at a pretty strong force ejecting the driver of the second involved traffic collision.
