At 8:59 a.m., officers from the Temecula Police Department arrived on scene at the 27000 block of Nellie Court, Temecula, regarding a reported assault with a deadly weapon inside a home.
“We were notified of an assault with a deadly weapon call.” Investigators said. “We responded and located a victim and the possible suspect in the area. We will not be releasing names or injury status at this time. All parties are known and there is no one outstanding at this time.”
Officers located a deceased female in the Nellie Court residence. Investigators from the Temecula Police Department and Central Homicide Unit responded and assumed the investigation.
“A resident in the area called to report that they were following a person who had fled the scene. A short time later officers located and arrested the suspect in a nearby shopping center.” The Central Homicide Unit reported.
The identification of victim is being withheld pending the notification of next of kin. This is an ongoing investigation and no further information will be released at this time. The identity of the suspect is also being withheld at this time.
