Panini and Hops opens with a special blend of beer, wine, and favorite local flavors in Temecula

Panini and Hops invites all to come enjoy during their “soft opening” this April.
The already famous “Paninis on Wheels” has served both at Europa Village Winery, the Temecula Valley Polo Club, and more–spreading devotion among wine country aficionados. But the recent pairing with Barley and Hops now shows there is nothing that Sam Macaluso and Scott Salmonsen cannot do.

“This idea has been generating for over a year, but things started moving about eight months ago,” said Sam Macaluso at the recent Friends and Family appreciation night. Over 150 came out to try the sampled paninis and appetizers, enjoy the enormous selection of beer and wine, and see what this dynamic duo has concocted to serve the discerning palates of Temecula.

The location for the restaurant might seem out of the way, set back from Jefferson Road. But forward thinking shows they plan on being a ground floor member of the new City of Temecula focused “Jefferson Corridor.” The location is tranquil, set back from the busy Jefferson Avenue with the mini river running and delightful walking bridge. An outdoor patio is due for expansion over the coming months. Talking with Macaluso, one gets the sense not only of all they’ve accomplished since opening, but his full plans for Panini and Hops future.
The most important thing to him? Continuing to develop his ever changing menu, and listening to his customers.
“We have a panini for every taste bud,” stated Macaluso. “Once you try one, you’ll be back, with a friend. Word of mouth has been everything with the Panini and Hops launch.” Of their varied menu, the Pesto Chic, Holy Cow,Garden Vegi as well as the Calamari and Deep Fried Shrimp were all available for tasting during the Friends and Family event, as was a full selection of local beer and wine (I inhaled my Refuge Brewery Blood Orange Belgian White Ale

had well over 1-thousand legitimate fans and likes before the doors ever opened. “Our audience basically watched us build the place. Now, people are coming out. Enjoying the food. It’s exciting to see.”
