Traffic exiting I-15 South, onto Rancho California Road came to a standstill Sunday afternoon following a motorcycle accident.
“Emergency vehicles responded to a motorcycle vs. car accident at approximately 4:05 p.m.” stated Riverside County Sheriff Public information officer Steven Favero. “The motorcycle driver suffered moderate injuries and was taken to a local hospital for treatment.”
No further information on the motorcycle driver’s condition was given at this time. The driver was not reported as injured.
According to officials, “At this time, this incident is not related to any other motorcycle gang activity,” Favero said.
Witnesses, via Facebook, have stated seeing the trademark colors of the Mongol Gang on the injured rider, however this has not been verified. Temecula residents remain watchful, sharing information via social media channels, especially with regard to the purported stabbing incident at I-15 and 79 South (Temecula Parkway) exit on the evening of March 22, 2014. That incident remains under investigation, as do allegations that “Hells Angels” and “Mongols” motorcycle gang activity is involved. (This developing story will be made available as soon as information is released).
Police are currently working on a follow up crash investigation southbound on Jefferson and Rancho California Road, near the I-15 on ramp.
More information will be updated as it arises.
