Severe Thunderstorms and even tornadoes are likely across metro Southern California today as yet another front moves through.

The SCWXA Tornado Watch was activated last night for this morning through evening across the forecast area.

A group of supercells formed over Orange County at 3am this morning and moved northward into the San Gabriel Valley.  It had a tornado warning attached to it and the rotation was notably strong for this area.  Radar showed a hook echo.

Saturday’s event will be three times worse than Friday, Feb. 28, bringing a very powerful line of severe thunderstorms to the region.  Supercells will form out ahead of this main line, across San Diego, Orange, and Los Angeles metro zones.  These forming ahead of the main line will be in perfect position for tornadoes to form.  Since it is the daytime we may get some reports.
