Over 300 people braved the rain for Friday night’s Oak Grove “Rock the Oaks” concert at Murrieta’s The Bridge Church–the first of the three day event raising money for Oak Grove Center for Education Treatment and the Arts (Oak Grove). “The Oak Grove kids were awesome last night, and the talent we’re seeing from this group is amazing,” stated Gwyn Sanborn, co-host for the fundraising concert, and performing arts director for Oak Grove. Adults, 19 and up are $20, kids 13-18 are $15, and kids under 12 are $10. “It’s all for charity, and a great way to donate and enjoy a fun evening out for people of all ages,” stated Sanborn.
Did you buy tickets and miss it?
Don’t worry. If you purchased Friday night tickets, and the rain kept you away, bring your tickets to Rock the Oaks in Murrieta on Saturday night for entrance to the show. “We’re honoring all Friday night tickets for Saturday night’s performance,” stated Sanborn.
Rock the Oaks is the annual fundraising festival for Oak Grove, held at Murrieta’s The Bridge Church, with Saturday shows at 2 p.m., and 7 p.m. and a local star studded lineup of artists for every musical taste. Sponsored by The Shamrock Irish Pub and Eatery, this amazing event continues to draw bigger talent year to year. Shamrock’s owner, Paul Little, was overheard saying, “I had no idea what these guys were capable of. Everyone needs to come down here and check Rock the Oaks out.”
Plans for next year will be even bigger, stated Sanborn, but for now, all eyes are on the Saturday night performance.
Tonight will show some of the hottest acts in the Southwest Riverside area, including rising stars and artists from the West Coast Country Music Association, heading to Nashville, as well as local favorites, Cougarzz Rock, and The Brewer Boys who are performing at Rock the Oaks for their sixth year in a row.

You-tube sensation, and former X-Factor contestant Trevor Moran will be on hand for a meet-and-greet with fans starting at 6 p.m. “Trevor, a member of the band O2L (Our Second Life), and a You-Tube sensation with over one-million subscribers, is selling out tours all over the world.” stated Sanborn, who has been Moran’s vocal coach since he started singing at age 8. “He’s amazing, and we’re excited for his meet-and-greet tonight.” When tickets went on sale, people started buying them right away!” Sanborn said.

“This year, we have everyone from gospel, to pop, to country, and even comedy,” Sanborn stated, of her sister, co-host “Hillbilly Holly.”
The Bridge Church continues to be an amazing venue, showing their ability to run a fast paced variety show, with a servants’ heart. “Travis, our sound guy from Bridge, makes everything happen. Whatever we need to make the show work, they go out of their way to make it happen,” said Sanborn. “Rock the Oaks is extremely grateful to all who participated in making this happen in 2014.”
