As of February 24, 2014, Sergeant Mike Manning – Public Information Officer of the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department reported that the Sheriff’s Department has a new strategy for missing persons. “The Riverside County Sheriff’s Department will investigate all persons reported missing until the person is found or determined to be a voluntarily missing adult.” Manning said.
Reporting parties DO NOT have to wait for a specific period of time prior to reporting the person missing.
In order to file a missing persons report, for persons 18 years of age and older, go to the nearest sheriff’s station or police station and bring a recent photo of the missing person to attach to the report.
“Call 911 immediately if the missing person is disabled, requires medical attention, is considered to be at risk or is 17 years of age or younger.” Manning said.
