On Saturday, February 22,the Promenade Temecula shopping center will host a special Street Painting Workshop in the center’s outdoor plaza, by the Edwards Stadium 15 Cinema. The Street Painting Workshop takes place from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Now is your chance to explore your creativity and learn the exciting art of street painting!
During this free workshop, guests of all ages will learn how to transfer a picture to a large, street painting using techniques such as sketching, gridding, blending, and detail tricks. Attendees will enjoy the chance to work together to produce a street painting mural using an image of their choice.
For the most impact, attendees are encouraged to choose one dominant subject matter for their street painting. For example, cartoons, Manga, and superheroes are ideal images to use when creating street art. The Street Painting Workshop will be conducted by a group of artists who participated in the 2013 Old Town Street Painting Festival, an annual event where artists from around the country come to compete and create beautiful art on the streets of Old Town Temecula.
Notable artists who will lead Promenade Temecula’s workshop on February 22 include Tim Krejci, a local artist from Menifee and who won the 2013 Temecula Street Painting Festival “People’s Choice” award; and Cecelia Linayao, a commissioned street painter who has painted all around the world, including the 2008 China Olympics, and was also the 2011 winner for “Best of Show” at the Old Town Street Painting Festival.
Other local artists who will be instructing the workshop include Shawndell Pickard, Sean and Lorraine Phillips, Ivy Capistrano, McKenzie Phillips, Colleen Baker-Huber, and Marc Alvarez.
