Mother of two, entrepreneur, model, reality star, and fitness guru Peggy Tanous paused her busy day to chat with Temecula Grapevine about 2014’s upcoming Reality Rally.
“I’m in Temecula a great deal,” stated Tanous.
“We have family in Murrieta, so you can find us in Temecula Valley Wine Country at least once a month.” When she was approached to participate in 2014’s Reality Rally, Tanous said she jumped at the chance. “I met Gillian several years ago, through Charity Prestifilippo of Charity for Charity, in Temecula. Now that the kids are bigger, I feel like I can really make a difference with competing in Reality Rally.” Peggy, who uses her Real Housewives of Orange County platform for philanthropy, advocates for Post Partum Depression, and Someone Cares Soup Kitchen.
A hard-working entrepreneur, and former Real Housewives of Orange County star, Tanous is all about making a difference. “Most reality stars love a good competition, and winning, of course! but Reality Rally is so much more than that.”
Tanous now promotes her workout dvds, and health and fitness talk show, starting this February.
“My main job is being a mom,” stated Tanous, who includes her daughters in her Total Body Work Out with your Toddler work 0ut videos. “It’s something we do together, as a family. Using your kids for weight and resistance came naturally for me, and now I can share that with everyone.” The video DVD boasts 30 minutes of work out and play time with the kids, if they are between ages of 6 months to 5-years-old, and under 35 pounds. “This is not hardcore or complex and crazy, just time well spent with your little ones. I’m having a lot of fun getting it out there.” Tanous said.
Though she no longer appears on Real Housewives of Orange County, Tanous now solely watches reality shows for research and development. “I’ve been in the business all of my life, modeling at 14, hosting, doing commercials. I watch all of the Housewives franchises.” Tanous said.
Regarding Reality Rally, she is full swing in her fund raising efforts toward her Reality Rally team. “Fund raising is something truly important to me, and we love Temecula.” stated Tanous. “My husband and I were married at Thornton Winery, and I’m involved in many local events.” Tanous recently attended Charity Prestifilippo’s ‘Stars of the Valley‘ event, raising money to benefit Ashlynn McGowen, Steven Kroeger, and Kaitlyn Parra. “The Stars of the Valley benefit is such a worthwhile event, and we were glad we could make it.”
As a frequent Temecula visitor, Tanous may have a leg up on her fellow reality rally entrants.
“I know Temecula, especially the wineries. I’m learning my way around Old Town, and may have an advantage for the race.”
Like most Reality Rally contestants, Tanous has her driven side. “Competition in Reality Rally is all in good fun. Michelle’s Place is such a worthwhile charity, and we’re raising money for the best of causes.”
