“A major waterline break (18” diameter) at the intersection of Temecula Parkway and La Paz Street.” Stated Amer Attar, Acting City Engineer, in a press release. “The break caused a major sink hole to develop on the westbound traffic lanes. The waterline break also caused significant damage to the pavement of all westbound traffic lanes that extended several hundred feet on Temecula Parkway east of La Paz.”

City staff responded with emergency traffic control measures, immediately. In addition, RCWD deployed their field crews to begin the repair.

The City is assisting RCWD with traffic control measures including the deployment of officers from the Temecula Police Department.
