Remember that big bus in Old Town Temecula? The “Restaurant Express” Food Network Show, hosted by Robert Irvine, is finally airing Sunday, November 9, at 9 p.m.
On his all-new Food Network Channel reality series, “Restaurant Express,” Robert Irvine challenges nine finalists to survive a culinary road trip across the West. The fact that the second episode takes place in Temecula, California makes it taste a little sweeter.
The show, which premieres on Sunday, Nov. 3 at 9 p.m on the Food Network, will feature Temecula on the second episode, November 10th at 9 p.m. (Check your Direct TV, Dish, or local listings and set that DVR!)
The City of Temecula, which prides itself on being a film-friendly City, was selected by Food Network Scouts, who fell in love with the Temecula charm and superior customer service. In the episode filmed earlier this summer, contestants surveyed the feel of Temecula, coming up with their own ideas to what this city was “missing” with regard to the restaurant world–at least in Old Town Temecula.
On Restaurant Express, each contestant must prove both superior culinary abilities and food industry business know-how in order to keep a ticket to ride the Restaurant Express touring bus. The second episode, airing, November 10th, will show that Contestants taking a walking “inventory of existing Old Town restaurants, develop a restaurant idea, and pitch it to Irvine and Temecula’s Mayor Mike Naggar.” according to press release.
When asked by Food Network Producers to stand side by side on camera with Chef Robert Irvine, Mike Naggar agreed to help judge each contestant’s restaurant prototype proposals, and whether they would or would not fit in with the Temecula ideal.
“It was exciting to see a nationally recognized cable network transform Temecula’s downtown into a television production site. Chef Robert Irvine, the contestants and the Food Network Team were a blast to work with. I am excited to watch and see how our downtown district, our local restaurants and our citizens shine on the television screen!” stated Mayor Naggar.
