The De Luz Fire in Camp Pendleton has burned over 1,000 acres as of 7 p.m. Saturday, October 5, 2013. For more information on this fire, call Camp Pendleton’s Fire Information Line: 760) 725-3333.
Riverside County Fire Department reported as of 1:45 p.m.:
…the fire at Camp Pendleton that is no threat to Riverside County. Residents in the southwest portion of the county may experience drift smoke, including the areas of: Temecula, Murrieta, Bear Creek, Tenaja, La Cresta, Wildomar, Lake Elsinore, Rainbow and other areas in the southwest portion of the county.
Per twitter feed by @Pendletonscout the De Luz fire has reached 100 acres. Evacuation site is set up at Semper Fi Paige Fieldhpuse. De Luz base housing is not affected.
Cal Fire is assisting with 6 air tankers, 5 engines, 2 helicopters, and 5 chief officers.

Cal Fire reports via Twitter at 2 p.m., “@CAL FIRE sending engines, airtankers, and a helicopter to support the fire on Camp Pendleton.”

Unsubstantiated reports show the fire began on the “East Side of Pendleton. Evacuations of on-base housing are being investigated. Stay tuned for further updates.
