Temecula Polo Party Presented By The Ultimate Beerfest

Polo aficionados and novices to the sport gather at the Temecula Polo Party to sipcraft beers and local wines, nibble on gourmet appetizers, and watch a polo match, all in the name of charity. The event, hosted at the Temecula Valley Polo Club facilities on Galway Downs and on its nearby picnic grounds, raises money to benefit a nonprofit horse rescue. It even allows guests to participate in a polo tradition—the stomping of the divots.

Divots are created in the field when the horses quickly start, abruptly stop, and bury their carrots. These divots can be dangerous to the horses and riders, so at halftime, spectators with complimentary glasses of sparkling wine take to the field to “stomp” the patches of upturned grass and dirt back into place.
