It’s Friday night in Old Town Temecula – and Hot Summer Nights is packed with band favorites for Friday, August 16 including Hoodoo Blues, Valley Winds, Silver Beatles and Open Road.

Playing at the Harmony Stage is San Diego blues band Hoodoo Blues. This band has been the host band for KUSI weekend news, was featured at the Oceanside Blues Fest, Seaport Village Blues by the Bay, and Rosie O’Grady’s. They’ve played at House of Blues, Belly Up, Kings Fish House and The Blues. They play from 6 to 9 p.m.

Pack up a picnic basket, blanket and the family for the Silver Beatles concert at Sam Hicks Park from 6 to 9 p.m. This is the full show with costume changes, lights, and singalongs. From the Mop Top British Invasion to Sgt Peppers, the Silver Beatles deliver all the tunes. Sam Hicks Park will also have a Jolly Jump and the History Museum is open for families to explore.

Swing dancers, and big band fans will enjoy the play list provided by the Valley Winds at the Main Street Parking Lot from 6 to 9 p.m. The owners of Serendipity will be beefing up the lighting so you can get hours of dance into this performance.

Headlining at Baily’s Courtyard is Open Road, a band comprised entirely of professional studio musicians and teachers, will be featured at Baily’s Old Town Front Street patio stage. Whether it’s blues, rock or jazz, this band provides a huge sound featuring Kenneth Rice on the saxophone, guitarist Buddy Mercer, bassist Tony Isabel and drummer/vocalist Paul Pierce. Together they cover every favorite rock, R&B, blues and jazz tune on any playlist. They play from 7 to 10 p.m.

Don’t worry parking. The parking garage at 3rd Street and Mercedes next to city hall has plenty of spaces – and it is free parking. During the evening you can take a musical ride through yesteryear in the Old Town Trolley. There is a trolley stop at the parking garage and many stops throughout Old Town. The trolley makes stops every 10 minutes.

Dynamite Dave will be at Old Town Front and Main Street in Old Town from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Discover summer science at Pennypickle’s Workshop/Temecula Children’s Museum from 5:30-8:30 p.m. For information visit http://www.pennypickles.org.
