Shaknado swirls into Temecula Regal Cinemas theater one night only

It’s true, Temecula. The SyFy movie hit, “Sharknado” — much tweeted, seldom lauded save for its dedication to ridiculous campy fun, is coming to Temecula’s Edward’s Stadium Regal 15 Cinemas for one night only. Friday, August 2, 2013.

You guessed it. At midnight.

Like all good slasher flicks should. Only this one really has teeth. Sharp ones.

Cast Includes:
Ian Ziering – Fin Shepard
Tara Reid – April Wexler
John Heard – George
Cassie Scerbo – Nova Clarke

Directed By:
Anthony C. Ferrante

Presented by Fathom Events and the Asylum, this special event will include never-before-seen footage including a behind-the-scenes featurette and a gag reel!

A gag reel? The original pitch reads like one, this blurb from The Asylum and Fathom:

“Sharknado” is the story of beachside bar regulars including owner Fin (Ian Ziering, “Beverly Hills 90210”), bartender Nova (Cassie Scerbo, “Make It Or Break It”) and local drunk George (John Heard, “Home Alone”) as they team up with Fin’s ex-wife April (Tara Reid, “Scrubs”) to investigate the ecological nightmare that has sharks swimming through the streets of Los Angeles and falling from the skies.”

Trying to review this movie, puns fly with the sharks. That’s what made it so twitterable that this reporter chanced watching a few minutes, then stayed on to see it to the brutal end.

Twitter has made #Sharknado the most tweeted movie event in — dare I say history? But now, SyFy gets to cash in on the hype and see if this film really has the chops of other midnight movie classics:

“Rocky Horror Picture show”

And with Tara Reid already slated for the Sharknado sequel, perhaps we are ready once again for camp.

Maybe America has had a bit too much reality & need of some ridiculous scream out loud fun. #Sharknado

And you can tweet that.

Purchase tickets early, as this event just might sell out.

Tickets are just $12.50 for this special showing and can be purchased from Fathom Events.

Also showing at Regal Cinemas in:

San Marcos
Aliso Viejo
Oceanside
