Looking for the perfect place to stage those senior portraits?

Here’s a look at eight great local favorites where you can snap your own pictures or hire a photographer to capture moments that will last a lifetime:

The Humphreys Estate

This garden location is ripe with special spots to snap a pic. Twenty acres in size, photographers will work against a backdrop of shady bridges, sun dappled trees and even a hedge maze.

Redhawk Waterfall

This highly photographed spot at the corner of Redhawk Parkway and Margarita Road graces many a mantle in Temecula and Murrieta. With its towering natural stone waterfall, spacious lawn and dramatic boulders for posing, it is a must for senior portraits and prom pictures and holiday photo shoots, too.

Longshadow Ranch Winery

What do rolling, vine-covered hills, a rustic ranch and Belgian draft horses have in common? An amazing venue for a rustic photo shoot in Temecula. From the little ranch store to the big barn, this winery boasts some of the favorite spots to photograph in Temecula’s wine country. No appointment is needed, as the whole property is available for photographers. Photo sharing with the winery is also a bonus Next time you visit, you may see your pictures posted.

Old Town Temecula

This fresh, urban setting can transform minute to minute. From the rich brick walls of the Merc to the rippling fountain with architectural angles of City Hall in the background, there is something to love around every corner of this unique mix of old and new. Park at the parking garage and pause at the fountain at sunset.

Harveston Lake

From the center fountain to the many gazebos and trees gracing the water’s edge, Harveston Lake remains an ideal location for any photo session. This location offers a picturesque backdrop that changes by the hour. Whether you stop by on a sunny day as the light reflects off the water, or gather under the shroud of coastal fog, take your time and browse the lakefront for those ideal moments of magic. No appointment necessary.

Menifee Lakes Country Club

Available by appointment, this breathtaking desert view golf course and country club is a great spot for photos of athletic seniors. Favorite areas include the foundation, vast front entrance, and even the lake and golf-course side if not in use by golfers.

Oceanside Pier

With barnacle-covered pilings bracing the boardwalk above, the Oceanside Pier is a photographer’s dream. Rustic simplicity is embraced by the waves and many photographers capture the seaside bliss with shots of faded wood and water. For an added, Pinterest-worthy bonus, carve names or the year into the sand prior to photo shoot.

    As a photographer, there is no location that pains me more to see than the Redhawk waterfall. I feel sorry every time I see a family all decked out in their white shirts and jeans taking family photos there. Dreadfully uninspiring …

    There is a fee to shoot at Longshadow Ranch Winery.. 50 bucks or buy two bottles of wine first.. shot there few times..
